Wisdom teeth are the large teeth at the very back of your mouth. They are the last of your teeth to emerge. For most people, that’s around in your teens, but can be later. As a result, bacteria can build up between them and other teeth, causing cavities, decay and gum disease.
It can be beneficial to have your teeth removed.
Sometimes, there is not enough space in your mouth for these large molars. As your wisdom teeth emerge, tooth crowding can happen, making some of your other teeth crooked and affect your smile.
Late-appearing wisdom teeth can also be the cause of other, often painful, dental issues.
